If you ask three companies for a GPS tracker quote in Uganda, you will probably get three different answers. The device is only one part of the cost. Knowing the parts helps you compare quotes fairly.
1. The tracker itself
Trackers differ by vehicle type and features. A compact waterproof tracker for a motorcycle is not the same as a hardwired tracker for a truck, and a tracker with a backup battery or extra inputs costs more than a basic one. See the range in our GPS tracker store.
2. Installation
A tracker should be installed neatly and hidden, with correct power and ignition wiring. Ask whether installation is included in the quoted price or charged separately, and who fixes problems if the device stops reporting.
3. Subscription
Tracking needs a mobile data connection and a platform to view your vehicles. Ask what the subscription covers, how often it is billed (monthly or yearly), and what happens if you stop paying.
4. Extras that add value
- Engine cut-off with a compatible relay.
- Fuel sensors to see refuels and sudden drops.
- Driver tags to know who drove.
- Cameras such as an AI dashcam.
5. App and support
Check that you get a phone app and a web dashboard, and that someone local answers when you call. Our own platform is described on the home page, with the HighTrack Pro app for iPhone and Android.
Questions to ask every supplier
- Is installation included in the price?
- What does the yearly or monthly subscription include?
- Do I get an app and a web login?
- Is there a backup battery and a tamper alert?
- Who supports me after installation?
